MEXICO -- Carlos Salcedo continues to add minutes in the Bundesliga in Germany and from that country he perceives like no one else the pre-match atmosphere between his national team and the Mexican team, a match that will open the curtain for both teams in Russia 2018.
In an exclusive interview for ESPN AM, the former Chivas de Guadalajara football player assured that in German lands they see the Tri with respect, even considering it as their most dangerous rival in Group F of the competition.
"The press knows about the recent performances, what we have been doing in the World Cups, they speak very well and even consider it as the most difficult match in the group. We owe that to my teammates and all the people of the National Team who make it possible for Mexico to progress, that is the goal," he declared.

In addition to ensuring that his transfer to Europe has made him mature as a football player, with specific improvements in his attitude as a professional, the 'Titan' made it clear that the objectives of the current Mexican National Team go far beyond the fifth match: The title of the competition is the goal.
"We always see ourselves winning and doing things well, that is something that we visualize ourselves doing a very good job. If I tell you it's the fifth match, I would be lying, because out of the 32 teams, everyone goes with the mindset of becoming World Champions, and that is something we also have in mind," concluded the Mexican-American.
