Professional Russian climber Rustam Gelmanov visits Mexico

Russian professional climber Rustam Gelmanov is back in Mexico and took advantage of his visit to attend a free-entry event held at Bloc E Centro de Escalada Patriotismo, where attendees climbed and socialized with the athlete. Some prizes were also distributed in certain dynamics, and afterwards the documentary "Searching For Climbing Paradise" was screened.

Exploring Mexico in climbing

Rustam is one of the best in the world in his discipline and recently visited Xico and Miradores del Mar, Veracruz, Chola and Pericos, Puebla, Tepoztlán and Yecapixtla, Morelos, Creel and Peñoles, Chihuahua, testing different climbing spots across the country with varying levels of difficulty.

A memorable trip to Mexico

"The first time I came to Mexico was a few years ago with my family to relax, and I was delighted. Three months ago, I had the opportunity to come back and took a trip to different places in the country. The best part of that experience was that I wasn't just climbing all the time, but also engaging in different activities where I met the local people and learned about their customs. It was a very enriching and beautiful trip for me," said the winner of 15 world titles for La Afición.

"Searching for Climbing Paradise" documentary

As a result of this great adventure undertaken with four Mexican climbers Franz "Franchute," Christian "Blue Demon," Diego "Monstruo," and Fernando "El Ferras," a 12-minute documentary titled "Searching for Climbing Paradise" was produced. The documentary is a co-production of The Red Bulletin Mexico magazine and CPTM (Mexican Tourism Board).

A never-ending love for Mexico

Every time Gelmanov returns to Mexico, he wants to know more, which is why he decided to come back. He will be in Mexico City until January 11th and will then continue traveling and discovering new corners of our country to continue doing what he loves most: climbing.

"Besides being fascinated since the first time I came because it is a very beautiful country, I decided to return because I have a lot more to discover. For example, in Chihuahua, there are many sites that are spectacular for climbing, like Peñoles, and I believe they have a lot of potential for this type of activity, so we will see what new places I discover this time," he concluded.
