MEXICO -- For the New Year, Pachuca will have a multicultural team, as they have players from nine different nationalities, which could be 11 if a couple more reinforcements are confirmed for the Clausura 2018.

So far, the team led by Uruguayan Diego Alonso has defender Omar Gonzalez from the United States, a 29-year-old national team player.

Colombians Oscar Murillo and Juan Calero. The defender is continuously called up to the national team and is headed to play in the 2018 World Cup. The son of 'El Condor' has been called up to represent the U20 Mexican national team.

Angelo Sagal from Chile. He is a 24-year-old forward whose future was expected to be brighter when it was believed that his country would participate in the World Cup.

The most talked about signing for Pachuca, Japanese forward Keisuke Honda, who played for Milan. Much is still expected from him.

Defender Robert Herrera from Uruguay, who has won the league title four times in his home country and came to Mexico to play for Puebla in 2015.

Argentinians German Cano, Franco Jara, and Sebastian Palacios. The latter is a new signing acquired last summer from Talleres de Cordoba.

The U20 Costa Rican player, Andy Reyes. He plays in his category's tournament but is eligible to play in the Copa MX.

Also reinforcing the team is Kekuta Manneh from Gambia, who comes from the Columbus Crew in MLS.

Lastly, there are the Mexicans represented by Oscar 'Conejo' Pérez, who, by the way, is the oldest player in the Liga MX.

The board of directors led by Jesús Martínez have not confirmed any more signings.

According to reports in South American media, it is possible that two more players from different nationalities could join:

Edwin Zambrano, U20 player from Ecuador, and Paraguayan Walter González, who hinted on his Twitter account that he is already tied to the Hidalgo club. "It is an honor that @Tuzos has noticed me". He says he's happy and promises to "give everything for you!"

For the national market, Pachuca and Monterrey have until December 29th to register players, as these two teams finished their participation in the Apertura 2017 later by playing the Copa MX final.

The deadline to sign foreign reinforcements is January 31st.
