Note about Miguel Layún

Due to being little used by the technical director Sergio Conceiçao this season, Mexican defender Miguel Layún does not rule out leaving Porto in search of playing time.

The Veracruz native hopes to compete in the 2018 World Cup and knows that regularity is necessary to be chosen and arrive in optimal conditions at the biggest football event.

Therefore, he is willing to leave the Dragons' team during this winter transfer, as long as the priority is to stay in Europe, despite the fact that Mexican clubs like América and Cruz Azul have asked about him.

According to the Portuguese newspaper Récord, Layún Prado will leave Porto in the coming days, although his destination is unknown. At the beginning of the season, teams like Rayados de Monterrey in Liga MX, and the European clubs Sevilla, Lyon and Espanyol were interested in him.

So far in the 2017-2018 season, the defender has only played 193 minutes in the Portuguese League, 90 in the League Cup, 14 in the Portuguese Cup, and 109 in the Champions League.

Scant minutes of activity for a player who aspires to be in his second World Cup and nothing compared to his last two seasons at Porto, where he played a total of 2,370 minutes in the Portuguese League in the first season and 1,079 in the second.

Miguel Layún's contract with the Dragons ends in 2019 and he has experience in Italian football with Atalanta and in English football with Watford.
