TOLUCA -- Chivas and Pachuca have finally reached an agreement for Rodolfo Cota to remain on loan with the Guadalajara team.
During the Liga MX Transfer Window, held at the facilities of the Mexican Football Federation, it was announced that the goalkeeper will continue on loan at Guadalajara, following an agreement between both management teams.
The novel lasted at least the past two months between both clubs, especially after Pachuca announced that they would no longer lend the 30-year-old goalkeeper. The only way to keep him in Chivas was if they received a payment of no less than eight million dollars.
The leadership and coaching staff of the Guadalajara team resigned themselves to what Pachuca wanted and even said goodbye to the goalkeeper, who was crucial in winning the double (League and Cup) in the Apertura 2017.
The scenario changed drastically in the final hours of the draft at the FMF facilities. Surprisingly, without either club officially announcing it, Rodolfo Cota's name appeared on the club transfer screen as a temporary pass, without specifying the duration of the new agreement.

Minutes after the news broke at the FMF, José Luis Higuera, CEO of Grupo Omnilife Chivas, highlighted on his Twitter account that "the problem is contained at Chivas," referring to the goalkeeper, who will stay to defend the Rebaño goal for at least six more months, something the club had been determined to achieve before the transfer period began.
The Mexican national team goalkeeper's stay has been the most important move of the Draft along with Christian Giménez's transfer to Pachuca, after it was announced that he would no longer continue at Cruz Azul.
There were rumors that Pachuca, the owner of Cota's rights, was asking for eight million dollars to acquire them, but the details of the negotiation have not been disclosed at this time.
Cota has two Copa MX titles, one SuperCopa MX title, and the Clausura 2017 League title, where he had a standout performance.
