Monarcas Morelia, which had a bad start in the Torneo Apertura 2017 Liga MX, found their ticket to the playoffs thanks to the sensational performances of Raúl Ruidíaz. Now their opponent will be the powerful Toluca.

In the regular season, Monarcas Morelia won 1-0 as a visitor against Toluca in the fifteenth round. In that match, Raúl Ruidíaz started and played the full 90 minutes.
