Chivas de Guadalajara seeks reinforcements for the upcoming Liga MX tournament

Chivas de Guadalajara does not want to leave the next Liga MX tournament empty-handed. That's why the Mexican team is planning to strengthen their squad, and they have set their sights on goalkeeper Raúl Guidiño.

It is unlikely that Rodolfo Cota will stay with the 'Rebaño Sagrado' for the Clausura Tournament. Therefore, the Guadalajara team's management is considering options to cover the goalkeeper position, and one of the favorites is the current APOEL player.

According to 'Récord', Chivas de Guadalajara, led by Jorge Vergara and José Luis Higuera, have contacted Porto, the owner of Raúl Guidiño's rights, to inquire about the possibility of bringing the goalkeeper to the Liga MX.

The Guadalajara representatives have pledged to provide continuity and a starting role for Guidiño, something the goalkeeper has needed since leaving Mexico in 2014. The Portuguese side might be open to accepting the proposal.

Meetings between Chivas and Porto will continue because Raúl Guidiño is currently on loan to the Cypriot team. However, the advantage for the Mexicans is that the loan is renewed every six months.

On the other hand, the 'chivistas' will try one last time to fight for Rodolfo Cota's continuity. Although they are not willing to pay $8 million, they will negotiate with Pachuca to reach a reasonable agreement.

However, the situation could be more complicated than expected, which further opens the doors for Chivas to sign Guidiño, as the Tuzos would lower the price of the transfer in exchange for adding a starting player from the 'Rebaño' to the deal.
