Cruz Azul's technical director, Paco Jémez, stated that losing is not synonymous with crisis after his team's 2-1 defeat against Tigres.

Desperate and repetitive story of Cruz Azul

In the final stretches of the tournament, when they have everything in their favor to reach another stage, they collapse.

Defeat against Tigres distances La Máquina from Liguilla

With the 1-2 defeat against Tigres, La Máquina slowly moves further away from Liguilla. Paco Jémez stated that the carelessness of his team was very stupid and didn't hesitate to express it.

"We weren't suffering, Tigres hardly posed any threat to us. It seems like we have to create favorable opportunities for the opponent when they aren't capable of creating them themselves, that's what bothers me and we have to avoid it because we seem stupid," he pointed out to the media.

Despite this, the celeste coach remained calm and assured that two consecutive defeats do not sound the alarm in any way.

"Having two losses in the league doesn't mean there's a crisis in the team. We deserved more, we ran more and did more than our rival. The margin of error was minimal," the coach acknowledged.

Regarding the discipline issue that led to Ángel Mena's expulsion, he stated that it is regrettable but it needs to be corrected. "Mena was sent off, it's not acceptable but we will correct those actions, I am also responsible for them.

Regarding the remaining two rounds, Jémez stated that nobody is going to give up and they will fight for every point. "We depend on ourselves, even four points would be enough for us to qualify, but there are 6 left and we will fight to get them," he added that the motivational message for his players is that "nobody is going to throw in the towel. We are going to work towards the goal. I trust them, I know they have soul and heart, we just have to focus on the details."

When asked about his continuity for the next tournament and with all this turmoil of results and statements, Jémez confessed that he would like to continue.

"I haven't thought about what will happen at the end of the tournament. Right now, my strength and mind are with the team. My priority is to fulfill the objective. Of course, I would like to continue, they have treated me well but we shouldn't rush."
