Tigres UNAL defeats Toluca 3-0 in the Liga MX
Tigres UNAL easily defeated Toluca 3-0 at the Universitario Stadium in Matchday 14 of the Torneo Apertura 2017 of the Liga MX. With this victory, the 'Felinos' virtually secured a place in the playoffs. The goals were scored by Gignac and Ecuadorian Valencia.
The first goal came at the ninth minute of the first half, after an excellent collective play finished brilliantly by Frenchman Andre-Pierre Gignac. That's how they went into halftime.
In the second half, Enner Valencia increased the lead at the 65th minute, after winning on the left side and beating goalkeeper García with a powerful left-footed shot.
The final 3-0 goal was also scored by the Ecuadorian forward, who missed from the penalty spot but recovered on the rebound and completed a brace, taking his tally to eight goals in the tournament, tied for second place in the Goal Scoring Table with Raúl Ruidíaz.
With this victory, Ferretti's team reaches third place with 25 points, two behind leaders Monterrey. Meanwhile, Toluca stays with 23 points in sixth place.
