Atlas player Alustiza on the bench

The most talented and expensive player on Atlas' current squad is on the bench with the rojinegros.

'Chavo' Alustiza is once again the topic of conversation among the rojinegros, as this is the third time he has been on the bench in the last four games, but the 'Profe' Cruz has a reason.

Numbers are cold and cruel with the idol. Atlas has won the last three games where Alustiza has played a secondary role, going from being the hero of the movie to a supporting actor.

He was a substitute in Puebla, then a starter against Veracruz but was replaced, and on Sunday in Torreón he was on the bench again, and now the 'Profe' Cruz leaves him on the substitute bench waiting for his turn.

Alustiza scored the winning goal in Puebla. Less than two minutes on the field and he made it count. But even those three points didn't give him continuity and a starting position.

The forward is by far the best player on this squad, but for some reasons, it doesn't work for him to be a starter. If Atlas is one step away from the Liguilla zone today, it is because of the 'Profe' Cruz, who has made changes to his team, changed goalkeepers, put Óscar Ustari in and sent Miguel Fraga to the bench, and not only that, but also left the idol on the bench.
