Two consecutive victories give Atlas hope for the playoffs
Two consecutive victories and Atlas already has enough to dream of the playoffs. The next three matches will be crucial for the Zorros and their aspirations for the Apertura 2017 playoffs, stated goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.
Santos, Morelia, and Xolos are next on the list for the Rojinegros before the Clásico for the Round of 16 of the Copa MX on October 25. The Rojinegros are currently in 11th place in the overall table with 13 points.
"I think this string of matches will be decisive to determine whether we are capable of aiming for the playoffs or not. Having three matches in three weeks will give us an important guideline. The first game is on Sunday, two days later another one, and on Friday there's another one. The important thing is to start accumulating the most points on Sunday," he commented.
For now, this Sunday they will visit Torreón, a terrain that they do very well on, as they haven't suffered a defeat there since the Apertura 2012. Three victories and two draws in their last five visits make up their record against the laguneros.
