Javier Torrente: My time at León was positive
Argentine coach Javier Torrente considers his time at León to be positive, as he achieved over 50 percent of the points in dispute.
"We had an undefeated streak of 11 matches, then another streak of six undefeated matches. In 47 matches, we obtained 51 percent of the points, which is a more than good percentage," he assured.
He considered that "the pressure was excessive, I respect the decision made by the board, I accept it, I do not consider it unfair. I lost my position, I dealt with the pressure of the people's need to be in the spotlight."
He assured that he only has words of gratitude for the players and for the board for giving him the opportunity to work at the club of the green shirts.
"I am tremendously grateful to the team, to the (Jesús father and son) Martínez, who brought me to Mexican football, very grateful for the opportunity they gave me," he pointed out.
He highlighted that beyond the fact that some fans insulted him when the results were not forthcoming, he always felt supported to do his job.
"I always felt accompanied, respected, even though there were insulting words. If there is any type of complaint, I understand it. I don't get mad about that. People and the passion that people transmit these kinds of issues," he concluded.
Torrente was dismissed as coach of León last Saturday, after losing 2-1 at home to Santos Laguna in a match from the seventh round of the 2017 Apertura Tournament of the Liga MX.
