Mexican Soccer Federation joins initiative to support education

The Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF) has joined the proposal to allocate the fines for the homophobic chant in games to the country's education.

They also asked the fans to eradicate this chant during the upcoming match against Panama in the World Cup qualifiers.

A few days ago, Tigres de la UANL announced that if their fans changed the chant from "eh puto" to "eh Tigres", they would remodel a school. This action was also followed by América.

Given this situation, the FMF recalled that they have been fined by FIFA on more than one occasion for this matter, so they support this initiative to put an end once and for all to this behavior.

"An initiative worth joining! #GritaMéxico and let's improve schools in our country.

"Today, knowing the various initiatives that Mexican fans and clubs have had to change the chant, the Mexican Soccer Federation Association joins the proposal and will allocate the fines to the education and physical activity of children in schools in our country," they stated in a press release.

They aim to help the comprehensive education of children, they indicated in the press release.

They added, "We invite the fans attending the Mexico vs. Panama match on September 1st at the Azteca Stadium to change the chant to 'México'."

They stated that "the future of a country lies in the education of minors. It will always be better to allocate resources to the education and physical activity of our children. It will be more beneficial that the fines imposed are used in the schools of our country."

"Less fines for the Mexican Soccer Federation will contribute to the comprehensive education of our children. #GritaMéxico, because today's children are the future of the country," they affirmed.
