Solidarity in the sports world after the terrorist attacks in Barcelona

The displays of solidarity in the sports world following the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Barcelona are relentless. Now it was Mexican soccer that expressed its solidarity through the different leagues that comprise it.

"The Liga MX, Ascenso MX rejects violence and joins in the grief that engulfs the Spanish city and its inhabitants," said the FMF in a statement.

In tribute to the people who died in the attack, Liga MX, Ascenso MX and Liga MX Femenil will observe a minute of silence before the start of matchday 5 and matchday 4 in the women's tournament.

"Prior to the start of the matches on Matchday 5 of Liga MX and Ascenso MX, as well as Matchday 4 of Liga MX Femenil, a minute of silence will be observed in solidarity with those affected by the event that occurred on Thursday, August 17th," emphasized the statement.
