One week before the start of the 2017-2018 Scottish League season, the Rangers team, where Mexicans Carlos Peña and Eduardo Herrera play, won a friendly game against Sheffield Wednesday 2-0.

As visitors, the Scottish team surpassed their opponent from the English Second Division to regain some confidence for the upcoming competition.

The goals of the victory were scored by Josh Windass in the 43rd minute, and by 37-year-old veteran Kevin Miller in the 56th minute, allowing the club, directed by Portuguese Pedro Caixinha, to finish the preseason in an acceptable manner.

Striker Eduardo Herrera was a starter and had a regular performance, playing 80 minutes before being replaced by Colombian Alfredo Morelos. The Pumas de la UNAM academy graduate has received a vote of confidence to start as he awaits for more rhythm.

On the other hand, midfielder Carlos "Gullit" Peña seems to be underperforming and today he sat on the bench, a situation that worries just one week before the start of the Scottish Premier League.

The two Mexican players will have their first experience in European football, which has not started off well. In addition to having little activity, a few weeks ago Rangers were eliminated from the Europa League preliminary round.

Next week, on matchday one of the Scottish League, Glasgow Rangers will face Motherwell as visitors with hopes of starting on the right foot.
