Former Monterrey Striker Humberto "Chupete" Suazo Returns to Professional Football
The former striker of the Monterrey club (Mexico), Humberto "Chupete" Suazo, returned to professional football to wear the jersey of San Antonio Unido, the team with which he made his debut in this sport.
Representing the town of San Antonio, a port located 115 kilometers southwest of Santiago, the team dressed in lilac secured the services of "Chupete" after almost a year away from the profession.
In front of two thousand people, the all-time leading scorer for Monterrey returned to professionalism after his traumatic departure from Colo Colo, which included a dispute with coach José Luis Sierra, in a friendly match between his new team and San Luis de Quillota, in the V region of Chile, at the Lucia Fariña Stadium.
In the game, the striker demonstrated the quality that made him a standout in all the teams he played for. Despite his club losing 3-1, Suazo scored the consolation goal for the lilacs.
"Chupete" was applauded by the attendees and was honored by the San Luis management for the record he maintains in the second category of Chilean football: 39 goals in 40 games, all with San Antonio.
Suazo decided not to receive a salary from San Antonio Unido in order to return to professionalism. The striker will be the captain and will have the mission of winning the Segunda División Profesional (third category in Chile) to bring SAU back to the second category: La Primera B.
