After his time at Cruz Azul, where he had some good moments with the team, he returns to Mexican football not seeking revenge, as despite not winning the title, they achieved other things like participating in the Club World Cup in 2014.
"It's not a thirst for revenge. Maybe it's about the opportunity to compete for the Concacaf title. We had good tournaments, but now it's a new story with Pumas," said Formica.

The Argentine player joins Joffre Guerrón and Néstor Calderón as new reinforcements in the university team's attack, alongside Matías Britos and Nicolás Castillo. A team that could be a protagonist with these additions.
"We will try to do things right, both individually and as a group. There are very good players in the squad, good material, so we will do our best," he mentioned.
Although he had no plans to leave Newell's Old Boys, Formica stated that certain circumstances in the club led him to decide to leave for Mexico again and reject other offers.
"I honestly didn't plan to leave Newell's, but certain situations disrespected some players on the team, and I decided to step aside," he concluded.
