Miguel Herrera, America's coach, said he did not know about the possibility of Oribe Peralta playing in the Gold Cup, since it's something they would have to consult with the forward.

After Alan Pulido suffered a fracture in his right humerus and was dropped from the Mexican National Team, it was mentioned that Peralta and Erick Torres could replace him.

Regarding this, "Piojo" commented that it's a decision that must be analyzed by all parties, especially by Oribe, considering the intense activity he has had.

"No one has told me anything and we'll have to ask Oribe because he is no longer a young boy that you can tell 'you're going to two tournaments' and he easily says yes. He is a 33-year-old man and he needs to decide what's next for him," he stated.

He explained that initially, the plan is for the Olympic champion in London 2012 to rest for a week and meet up with them in the United States.

"Edson (Álvarez) is going to the Gold Cup and Oribe will have a week off and will join us on the tour," he concluded.

The Mexico City team traveled this Monday to the United States to continue their preseason work for the Apertura 2017 Tournament of the MX League.
