Éver Banega Rumors to Tigres False, Says Nahuel Guzmán

Éver Banega was one of the names rumored to be joining Liga MX during the Draft. The destination for the midfielder was Tigres. A photograph uploaded by Nahuel Guzmán fueled the rumors about the possible signing.

However, the goalkeeper of the 'Felinos' took it upon himself to deny that information. In fact, the 'Patón' revealed that the Inter Milan player became confused because of the amount of publications in the Mexican press.

"Éver Banega asked me if it was true. He and his agent didn't know anything about it, they were confused. Of course I would like him to come, but it has all been pure speculation. It's not fair to get people's hopes up like that," said the Tigres goalkeeper.

Guzmán took the opportunity to reflect on the role of the media. "I was talking to a friend and it happens a lot in politics, today the media create nonexistent realities, they no longer persuade or try to shape your opinion," said the goalkeeper.

"I uploaded the photo (with Éver Banega) a bit on purpose, to see if people would keep talking, I could have played along more, but we have to be a bit careful when we report," concluded the Tigres player.
