Uruguayan Gustavo Matosas Resigns as Cerro Porteño Coach and Returns to Mexico
After not even completing three months in charge, Uruguayan Gustavo Matosas resigned on Thursday as the coach of Cerro Porteño and stated that he was returning to Mexico, where he currently resides.
The resignation came after the team was eliminated from the fight for the championship title in the Paraguayan First Division's Apertura tournament.
Matosas took charge of the Cerro Porteño squad on March 25th.
"In Mexico, I will be a commentator for a television network covering the Confederations Cup matches, and then I will evaluate my professional future. So far, Estudiantes de la Plata has shown interest in my services," he stated in a press conference.
