Why should Francisco Jémez stay?

Jémez has received support from the fans and also the backing and commitment from the team.

  1. Continue with the project, keeping the coaching staff and 85% of the squad. Cutting Jémez and making numerous changes to the team would once again expose the management, as it would be another failed bet.
  2. Although his offensive proposal was not fully achieved, it is true that the team showed passages of very good football, which was emphasized by Jémez on several occasions.
  3. Unlike other coaches who have seen the fans turn against them when results don't come, Jémez has received support from the fans, which speaks to the conviction and connection between both parties.
  4. In this same regard, the Spanish coach has also received the backing and commitment from the team.
  5. For the commitment he has shown in his work. Jémez has implemented certain customs within the squad that, beyond the results, reflect the work and discipline imposed by him.

Why should he leave?

The head coach stated that if Cruz Azul didn't qualify, he would leave.

  1. Taking into account that Cruz Azul will be very close to the relegation zone in the next football year, the team would need a coach with the knowledge and experience necessary in these types of situations, in reference to Jémez having suffered relegation with Rayo Vallecano.
  2. His deteriorating relationship with the press, which has been gradually wearing down due to the questioning he has faced since his arrival, under the media pressure that comes with being in a team like Cruz Azul, in addition to the lack of good results. The pressure cooker called Cruz Azul could make the Spanish coach leave if the results continue not being ideal.
  3. The gradual wearing down of his discourse, which -on several occasions- deviates from what his team actually shows in each match.
  4. If Paco Jémez does not have absolute authority in the selection of reinforcements, he would have to resign, as players are not being brought in according to his own choice; this is considering players who can contribute to what he and his style of play want.
  5. If he doesn't qualify, he should resign from his position, as he stated -more or less- that if Cruz Azul doesn't qualify, he would leave. The team has not lived up to expectations.
