América launches blood donation campaign

In addition to its sporting activities, América is also committed to social work. That's why the bluecrema team and the Mexican Red Cross have launched the Donate Your Passion campaign, which aims to invite fans of any team to donate blood voluntarily.

José Romano, operational president of the Águilas, invited "Mexicans and soccer fans, regardless of the team they support, to donate the most precious thing we have, which is our blood."

Fernando Suinaga Cárdenas, president of the Mexican Red Cross, pointed out that "this campaign, in addition to raising awareness, aims to reach a larger number of people. These actions will motivate fans of this club and Mexicans to donate blood to save lives. Thanks to Club América for this selfless act."

Meanwhile, Ricardo Peláez said, "this campaign is not only for América players but also for players of any team and their followers. We all have a social responsibility to support those in need in Mexico with blood. We invite everyone to join us."

Oribe Peralta, captain of the Águilas, made "a call to all Mexicans and all fans, regardless of teams, to come and donate blood with passion. Let's put aside the colors and differences. Let's remember that Mexicans are known worldwide for being supportive."

Since yesterday and until May 31, a blood bank has been set up at the Coapa facilities to assist people who wish to become blood donors. The bank will operate from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 1 pm.
