The Rayados fans responded on Good Friday despite the drizzle in the city of Monterrey and set a new attendance record for a team training session in Mexican football.

26 thousand spectators gathered at the Coloso de Guadalupe to support their Rayados just days before facing Toluca and over a week before the Clasico Regio 110 against Tigres.

The Albiazul training session started at 10:00 hours, but an hour earlier the Rayados fanatics began to arrive at the venue located in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon.

'La Pandilla' stepped onto the field of their stadium amid applause and cheers, to later engage in small-sided games and a short scrimmage among the substitutes from Wednesday's match against Santos Laguna.

Walter Gargano asked to cherish these unique moments in a footballer's life and acknowledged that he had experienced a similar situation at Napoli.

"I am happy especially for the love that people give us, taking the opportunity for those who sometimes cannot come to the stadium. It is very nice to interact with them, it is what football gives you, because one has lived and gone through it, and does not realize it, but to interact with the fans is the most beautiful thing there is, to see children happy. It has happened to me in Napoli, the fans really are priceless", mentioned the Uruguayan in a press conference.

La Adiccion began adding spice to the Clasico Regio 110, which will be held on April 22 at the Albiazul home, by chanting their famous song: "They are afraid... the Tigres are afraid".

Captain Jose Maria Basanta thanked the number of attendees to the training session and announced that the record set in April 2012 was broken, just before a Clasico, when 21 thousand fans entered.

"It is a historic day in national football, an attendance record for a training session has been set. Today's attendance has been 26 thousand people," expressed 'Chema'.

At the end of the training session, the players gave away autographed balls and water bottles to the fans as a sign of gratitude.
