Dutch departure to Liverpool is the second most expensive in PSV's history, below that of the Mexican when he was transferred to Napoli in the Italian Serie A.

After causing a sensation in the 2022 World Cup Qatar, Dutch player Cody Gakpo was acquired by Liverpool, making it one of the most talked-about transfers in European football; however, it became the second most expensive sale in PSV Eindhoven 's history, still below that of Mexican player Hirving 'Chucky' Lozano when he moved to Napoli in Italy.

The transfer of Gakpo, who participated with the Netherlands in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, was completed for 42 million euros, almost 45 million dollars, and more than 870 million pesos in this winter transfer market in European football.

However, 'Chucky' Lozano's sale from PSV to Napoli in the Italian Serie A occurred in the 2019-2020 season, when he was 24 years old, for 45 million euros, more than 932 million pesos, and almost 48 million dollars, which is the most expensive transfer in the history of 'Granjeros' according to the specialized transfer portal Transfermarkt.

It should be noted that until mid-2021, Chucky's value reached 45 million euros, but from there the figure fell to 28 million euros today.

Who increased their value the most after Qatar 2022?

Just like Gakpo, who had a great performance in the Qatar World Cup with the Netherlands and increased his value in the market, other players also did so significantly, such as Kylian Mbappe, who went from 160 to 180 million dollars; Enzo Fernández, who went from 35 to 55 million dollars; Julián Álvarez, from 32 to 50 million dollars; the Croatian Josko Gvardiol, from 60 to 75 million dollars at Leipzig, or the Moroccan Sofyan Amrabat, from 10 to 25 million dollars at AC Florenz.

Likewise, Jude Bellingham went from 100 to 110 million dollars at Borussia Dortmund; Bukayo Saka, from 90 to 100 million dollars; Aurélien Tchouameni, from 80 to 90 million dollars; Dayot Upamecano, from 50 to 60 million dollars, and Alexis Mac Allister, from 32 to 42 million dollars at Brighton, among several other players.

In the case of the Mexicans, Luis Chávez was the only player from the Mexican national team who increased his value, going from 6.5 to 8 million euros.
