Undoubtedly, Universitario de Deportes is making important signings with an eye towards 2023. However, the cream team intends to sign more players in the coming weeks, and one of them would be an Argentine central defender.

We are talking about Guillermo Burdisso, who has been in teams like Boca Juniors, AS Roma, Rosario Central, Arsenal de Sarandí, Galatasaray, Independiente de Avellaneda and Lanús, among others. The defender recently became a free agent after a spell at Deportivo Cali in Colombia, where he played eight matches.
According to Gustavo Peralta from Líbero, Burdisso was offered to 'U' in recent weeks. However, it has not been confirmed yet whether he will join the cream team to fight for a spot in the starting eleven.
It is worth noting that this defender is the brother of Nicolás Burdisso, former player of Inter Milan, Roma, and Boca Juniors. Like his relative, he played for the Argentina national team, but only featured in a friendly match against Costa Rica, where he scored a goal.
