José Mourinho returned to the Giuseppe Meazza and defeated his former team, Inter Milan, with whom he won the 2009-10 Champions League by defeating Bayern Munich in the final at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
Roma, led by the Portuguese, came back and defeated the Lombard team 2-1, which opened the scoring with Federico Dimarco's goal (30).
The defensive weakness that Inter has shown at the start of the season helped Roma's comeback: Argentine Paulo Dybala equalized in the 39th minute, with a beautiful left-footed volley connecting a ball served by Leonardo Spinazzola, and in the 75th minute, Englishman Chris Smalling equalized with a header, one of his specialties.
