This last-minute reinforcement was announced by the Italian Football League, just minutes before the closing of the transfer market.
The American international right-back Sergiño Dest was loaned this Thursday by Barcelona to Milan, who is filling the absence left by the injured defender Alessandro Florenzi.
According to reports, the 21-year-old defender -who has made 17 appearances for the United States and scored two goals- has a loan contract with Barcelona until 2025, with an option to buy at the end of the season for 20 million euros (20 million dollars).
Dest arrived at Barcelona in October 2020 from Ajax, in a transfer worth 21 million euros.
Born and raised in Almere, east of Amsterdam, this footballer has dual Dutch and American nationality.
He joined Ajax at the age of 11 in 2012, progressing through all the youth categories until reaching the first team.
Alessandro Florenzi, the substitute for first-choice right-back Davide Calabria, got injured on Tuesday against Sassuolo (0-0). Milan has not announced the duration of his absence, but the media has reported several weeks. AFP
