Official. Serbian midfielder Filip Kostic signed for Juventus in Serie A on Thursday, where he will coincide with his compatriot Dusan Vlahovic.
"Filip Kostic arrived at Caselle airport for the medical examination of Juventus," announced the 'Vecchia Signora' on their website, where they also posted a video showing fans waiting for their new star, and the player undergoing the medical examination.
The contract of international player Kostic, 29 years old, was officialized by the Italian Football League, who announced it on Thursday afternoon on their website in the updated list of summer transfers.
Filip Kostic will aim to be a starter at Juventus
Although Juventus has not yet communicated the details of the operation, Kostic would have signed for three years, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, evoking a payment of around 15 million euros ($15.4 million) by the Bianconeri club to Eintracht German.
Eintracht did not summon their player for the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday against Real Madrid (0-2).
"We are going to say goodbye to him with tears in our eyes, (...) because it is never pleasant to lose a player like him. Without him, we are weaker, that's for sure," emphasized coach Oliver Glasner on Tuesday.
Filip Kostic, who also wore the colors of Stuttgart and Hamburg in the Bundesliga, was one of the architects of Eintracht's victory in the Europa League last season.
Kostic and a new adventure in European football
The Serbian international, who has been called up 48 times by his national team, stands out for his left-wing dribbling and dangerous crosses.
In Juventus, he will meet his compatriot Dusan Vlahovic, who joined the Piedmontese club in January. For both of them, it is an opportunity to get to know each other better ahead of the World Cup (November 20 - December 18), where Serbia will face Brazil, Cameroon, and Switzerland in Group G.
