The midfielder will play, at least, until the age of 40 as he has signed a contract until December 2023
The Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo signed with Fluminense de Rio de Janeiro, which will play in the second phase of the Copa Libertadores 2022, the carioca club reported on Monday.
"Today Fluminense is my home and without a doubt, I will make the Fluminense shirt my second skin. It is the least I can do for such a great club that has opened its doors to me at this moment," said the 38-year-old player quoted in a statement from the club.
The midfielder, who has played for Italian teams Inter Milan, Fiorentina, and Juventus, as well as Turkish team Galatasaray, will be linked to the carioca tricolors until December 2023, according to the note.
Melo arrives in the 'Cidade Maravilhosa' as a free agent after Palmeiras, where he played between 2017 and last November, did not renew his contract despite being one of the captains and one of the most beloved players by the fans.
