After being the coach of his national team, Ukrainian Andriy Shevchenko has been officially announced as the new coach of Genoa, an Italian Serie A team. This club made the announcement through its social media.
"Shevchenko won, among other things, the Ballon d'Or in 2004 and the Champions League in 2003. In his coaching career, he led the Ukrainian national team, from July 2016, to their historic placement among the top eight teams in Europe at Euro 2020," Genoa highlighted.
It was known that the contract of the former goal scorer, who is remembered by many thirty-year-olds for his extraordinary plays, has been set until 2024.
The fans of Genoa welcomed the news, stating that 'Sheva' will play a great role in preventing the club from relegation. As many will know, that team is currently in 17th place on the Serie A table.
"Andriy Shevchenko will make Genoa move forward and not go to the second division. I'm sure of that," commented one of them.
