"If he scored, I promised to buy him very expensive sneakers," said the Roma coach.

A spectacular brace by 18-year-old Ghanaian Felix Afena Gyan in his third official match gave Roma a crucial 2-0 victory over Genoa after two consecutive Serie A defeats.

The African took advantage of his first opportunity to finish off an assist from Mkhitaryan and break the tie under the intense rain of Marassi.

He ran to hug Mourinho to express his gratitude and the entire Roma team joined him. It was a key goal to relieve the pressure on Roma, who had suffered two consecutive defeats in Serie A.

The young Ghanaian became the first player born in 2003 to score in Serie A and confirmed that Genoa is one of his favorite opponents. In fact, his first goal as a Roma player came on March 14 against the Genoa team, in a U18 match.

And his great performance culminated in the 94th minute, when he completed his brace with a fantastic goal from 25 meters that definitively sealed Genoa's fate.

"If he scored, I promised to buy him very expensive sneakers, they cost 800 euros and he came to remind me of it on the bench," said José Mourinho, who fulfilled the promise to the young forward.
