French midfielder Steven N’Zonzi becomes a key player for Sevilla
The French midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has become one of the mainstays of Sevilla. Tempted last summer by a good number of teams from the major European leagues, the 28-year-old midfielder discarded all options and already renewed his contract with the Sánchez Pizjuán squad last January.
Thus, the agreement that binds both parties now extends until June 30, 2020, while his buyout clause rises to €40M. However, this protection by the Andalusian team has not stopped speculation about the identity of some teams interested in signing him.
An example of this is the information that has appeared in the English tabloid Mirror in recent hours, a source according to which both Manchester City and Chelsea have not forgotten about the player's abilities and will closely follow his performance in tomorrow's match between Sevilla and Leicester at the King Power Stadium for the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
Although his buyout clause seems sufficient to scare off potential suitors, the enviable financial health that Premier League clubs can boast could cause some trouble for Sevilla next summer. Therefore, we must be attentive to this possibility.
