The Vicente Calderón stadium has been designated as the venue for the Copa del Rey 2016/17 final, which will be contested on May 27th between Barcelona and Alavés.

The RFEF has reported that the board of directors of this institution, meeting at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, has decided that the stadium of Atlético de Madrid will once again host the final.

This will be the fourteenth occasion that the Calderón hosts the battle for the title and the second consecutive one, following last year's final in which Barcelona defeated Sevilla in extra time.

Barcelona qualified for the final after defeating Atlético de Madrid in the semifinals, while Alavés reached it for the first time in its history by eliminating Celta de Vigo.
