The president of UD Las Palmas confirms the signing of Jesé Rodríguez
The president of UD Las Palmas, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, confirmed today that there is already a "total" agreement for forward Jesé Rodríguez to play on his team until the end of the current season on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, only pending the signing of contracts.
Ramírez assured the club's official radio station, UD Radio, that the player is expected to arrive tomorrow, Tuesday, to the island, where he will be presented in the afternoon at the Gran Canaria stadium, in an open session to the fans, after completing the necessary medical examination.
The club's leader said that the deal for Jesé "is completed" and only needs to finalize the contracts, because there is a "total agreement with the player and his original team", Paris Saint-Germain, and the loan of the island forward will be signed during Monday until June 30.
The island president highlighted that Jesé's desire to play for Unión Deportiva, in his hometown, prevailed, which led him to reject offers from clubs that were willing to cover his full salary. In fact, he emphasized that he arrives in "advantageous conditions" for Las Palmas' interests.
Ramírez asked for as many people as possible to attend the Gran Canaria stadium tomorrow afternoon to thank Jesé for the "gesture" of choosing Unión Deportiva "among the greats of European football", because they need the player to see "that the fans love him".
The club's president assures that the signing of former Real Madrid player Jesé and the Croatian international Alen Halilovic, already called up for tonight's match against Valencia, are the "icing on the cake" and fulfill the desire to strengthen a "competitive squad".
Miguel Ángel Ramírez ruled out the arrival of Argentine forward Jonathan Calleri, because although the deal was "closed" on Sunday, even with an email confirming it, the coach of English club West Ham prevented the player's departure "three hours later".
In addition, he stated that Halilovic's signing has closed the door for Argentine player Hernán Toledo, coming from Italian club Fiorentina, "at least during this January transfer window".
Therefore, Jesé will be Las Palmas' final addition in this January transfer market, as Ramírez assured, because the team's coach, Quique Setién, does not want any more signings, although he has left open the possibility of a player from the current squad leaving in the coming hours.
