Alexander Isak rejects Real Madrid's offer and joins Borussia Dortmund
Real Madrid's leadership always aims to sign the best young players in the world. One of these was Alexander Isak (17), former player of AIK. The Whites were close to securing his transfer, but he preferred to take the offer from Borussia Dortmund.

The Swedish team admitted that negotiations with Real Madrid's directors took place. However, Dortmund's offer was better "for both his former club and the player."
"The negotiations between both parties have been as they should be, with the difference that the figures were astounding," said Björn Wesström, AIK executive, regarding the player's rejection of Real Madrid. He also stated that in Dortmund, Isak would have many more opportunities to showcase his game.

Swedish press reports that the agreement between the German team and AIK was closed at 9 million euros. This figure could increase if certain objectives are met, such as championships and playing minutes.
During 2016, Isak scored 13 goals in 26 appearances with AIK. He was also named the 'Revelation Player' of the Swedish championship.
