The 10 most expensive winter signings in history

The winter market traditionally serves clubs to make small adjustments to their squads, and also for players who were not being counted on by their coaches to have a second chance. Therefore, being halfway through the season, there are usually fewer transfers than in the summer and usually of lesser importance.

Although this does not mean that no money is being spent or that there are no million-dollar deals, as you can see on our page every day. In fact, in 2017 the biggest winter transfer in history was closed, the sale of Oscar from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG for €60M.
