After not renewing a contract with Uruguayan Mario Viera, Comerciantes Unidos has decided to hire Chilean Jorge Aravena as the head coach for the 2017 season, where the Cutervino team will play in addition to the 2017 Descentralizado Tournament, the Copa Sudamericana.
"We warmly welcome Prof. Jorge Aravena, the new head coach of Águilas Cutervinas," says the message posted on the social media of the Cajamarquino club.
Jorge Aravena, 58 years old, has a great history as a football player and coach. He was a midfielder who played for clubs in his country, Spain, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, as well as for the Chilean national team.
As a coach, Jorge Aravena has worked for Chilean teams Audax Italiano, Palestino, Santiago Morning, Everton, Cobreloa, and Santiago Wanderers, as well as Mexican teams Puebla and Lobos de la BUAP.
According to reports from Gráfico de Chile, Jorge Aravena has not been coaching since 2013.
