Fundación Cajasol Sporting de Huelva signs Mexican midfielder Lydia Nayeli Rangel

The Fundación Cajasol Sporting de Huelva, from the Women's First Division, announced on Monday the signing of midfielder Lydia Nayeli Rangel, captain of the Mexican national team, who will join the Andalusian team in January.

The new player for the Huelva club is 24 years old, but she already has extensive experience in the national team of her country, where she stood out last year in the Women's World Cup in Canada.

The Sporting de Huelva highlights in a statement that Nayeli is "an icon in her country for being an outstanding player and a great professional."

The Huelva club emphasizes that their new player is characterized by "imprinting a lot of character" to her football, being "very competitive" and positioning herself "very well" on the field.

Talent, leadership, and ambition are the words that, according to Sporting, define this player, who has "managed and led her entire life" in order to become one of the best players in the world.

"Probably the leap to Europe will be the last push she needs for her sporting abilities to be recognized," says the Huelva club, who are "very excited" about this signing.

Nayeli, originally from Monterrey, has expressed that she is "excited" to join Huelva and that she is "eager and enthusiastic to be" with her "new teammates and help achieve exciting goals."

The player also participated with her national team in the 2011 Germany World Cup, the Mexico Pre-World Cup (2011), as well as the U-20 World Cups in Chile 2008 and Germany 2010.
