Clemente finishes third in Men's Longboard Tour in Japan
Peruvian surfer Piccolo Clemente finished in third place at the Men's Longboard Tour held in Okiragahama, Japan, alongside former world champions Tony Silvagni (USA) and Taylor Jensen (USA).
After 8 long competition dates, the WSL world champion (2013-2015) was able to maintain his performance and tame the challenging waves in Japan to reach the final.
"The conditions were very difficult, despite my board working well. Maybe I could have chosen my waves better, but I'm happy with the result," confessed Piccolo to a Peruvian surfing blog.
Another Peruvian surfer, Lucas Garrido Lecca, also competed and reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated.
Piccolo will continue his preparation to defend his WSL world champion title in early December in China. Prior to that, he will participate in the Pan American Surfing Championship in Peru, as well as the final stage of the National Open in Lobitos and the Bolivarian Beach Games in Iquique, Chile.
