Santos Laguna will face Tigres UANL on Friday night, in a friendly match that will take place in Houston, Texas.
Both teams will take advantage of the break in the Liga MX due to the FIFA date, to play a friendly match that will allow them to practice for the final stage of the Apertura 2016 Tournament.
The actions will begin at 8:00 pm, it is expected that coach José Manuel de la Torre will take the opportunity to test some of his players who do not have much activity and also confirm what has been worked on.
The albiverdes also want to take advantage of staying active and measure their strength against one of the teams at the top of the local tournament and the CONCACAF Champions League, with the match against the lagunero team that tries to straighten the path after a weak start.
The santistas held an early morning practice at Territorio Santos Modelo, then started their journey to Houston, Texas, where they will face the team led by 'Tuca' Ferretti.
"The goal is to win, we need it, we are going to play with everything against the teams we have left, looking to win, we know it will be very difficult but we have a lot of faith."
Before leaving, Cape Verdean Djaniny Tavares spoke about the work done by the santista team in the past week and stated that with the support of the fans they will move forward.
"It has been good, strong teamwork to improve on some aspects we are lacking and be well in the few games we have left, looking to win as many points as possible," he said.
Regarding what coach José Manuel de la Torre has asked of the group, he commented: "We have to work hard, always focused on improving in some aspects, always giving our all to move forward."
The forward assured that they will try to make the most of the preparation match against the felinos:
"It's our job and we have to take every match seriously, the match against Tigres will be a good one, a test to be in good shape and arrive in the best way for the match against Pachuca."
He also addressed the issue of his readjustment to the team, after overcoming the pubalgia problem that afflicted him since the previous championship:
"Thank God I'm feeling a little better, my injury was very complicated, I had to start from scratch, little by little I'm improving, I hope to help my team which is what I want the most, start playing and supporting the group."
Regarding the end of the regular phase of the championship, he said: "The goal is to win, we need it, we are going to play with everything against the teams we have left, looking to win, we know it will be very difficult but we have a lot of faith."
The African added that the support of the fans will be crucial to move forward: "I ask you to help us a lot, surely we will move forward with your support, we will do everything to make you happy."
