Rome - Brazilian forward Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa landed this afternoon at Milan's 'Malpensa' airport and his signing for Italian club Inter will be official in the next few hours, as soon as the Santos player undergoes a medical examination.

Gabriel Barbosa, who won the Olympic gold medal with the Brazilian national team at the Rio Games, landed in Milan after 15:30 local time (13:30 GMT) and was received at the airport by more than 50 fans, as reported by Inter in a statement.

The Brazilian will undergo his medical examination with his new club this afternoon and will leave Santos in exchange for about 25 million euros, according to local media reports.

The 'nerazzurri' club, which has already reached an agreement with Santos, may allow Gabigol to finish the "Brasileirão" championship and incorporate him in the winter transfer window, although there is still no official confirmation from the Milanese club.

Barbosa, who will turn 20 on August 30th, spent seven seasons in Santos' youth teams and made his debut for the first team at just 16 years old, in May 2013.
