The Pope Francisco chooses Lionel Messi as the best player in the world
In a meeting with 12 young people who participated in the XXIX World Youth Day (WYD) in Poland, Pope Francisco gave his final verdict on who was the best player in the world, under his personal judgment. The question was about Diego Maradona or Pelé, but he answered in favor of Lionel Messi.
On the table, Pope Francisco had several alternatives, but he chose a player who he knows closely and who undoubtedly captivates him. It is not a mystery, but the Supreme Pontiff is addicted to sports.
In this meeting, the question from the young man was as follows: "Is Maradona or Pelé better?", and Pope Francisco immediately responded: "For me, Messi."
The question to Pope Francisco was asked by a Brazilian young man, José Pasternak. His surprise was such because he believed he was going to mention a fellow countryman like Neymar, for example.
