The National Stadium: Home of Peruvian Sports
It was built in 1962 with a capacity for fifty thousand spectators, it is also known as the José Díaz venue where football was the face of celebration and joy in important moments, such as the victory over Chile in 1977 that paved the way for qualification for the 1978 Argentina World Cup, qualification for the 1982 Spain World Cup, and who could forget the celebration of "Chorrillano" Palacios in the triumph over Paraguay in 2000.
This stadium was also the witness to the reception of the Volleyball Girls after winning the Silver medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics and how could we forget the triumphs of the great Mauro Mina, with great victories that filled the nation with pride.
In 2011, it was renovated with a design that is in line with modernity; the "Home of Peruvian Sports", the "Home for Everyone", our National Stadium.
