A strong abdomen: Cristiano Ronaldo's routine

A large number of people are looking for the most effective exercises to have a strong abdomen and reduce belly fat, some even seek to achieve similar results to those of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward is known for exercising daily to maintain his peak performance, but very few know what kind of routine he follows.

Having a flat abdomen is not an easy task, but the Harvard Medical School stated that people should change their traditional abdominal routine for a series of planks to achieve the best results.

"Many people start working their core with traditional abdominal exercises. But those are not the most effective exercises to strengthen and tone this area," the study cited by Colombian portal La FM pointed out.

This theory was reinforced by fitness trainer Alexa Peña, better known as AlexFitBox. The professional mentioned that planks are the most effective exercises to reduce belly fat and "they hit the abdominal area quite hard, although they require more strength."

Through the Nike training app, Cristiano Ronaldo revealed the exercises he does for 15 minutes to sculpt his abs. The training starts with a basic warm-up followed by a series of exercises, such as:

Torso 1

  • Straight-legged bicycles (30 seconds).
  • Dead bugs (40 seconds).
  • Low plank with alternating leg lift (40 seconds).
  • Straight-legged bicycles (30 seconds).
  • Dead bugs (40 seconds).
  • High plank with shoulder taps (40 seconds).

Torso 2

  • Leg pendulum (40 seconds).
  • Low boat pose (30 seconds).
  • Leg pendulum (40 seconds).
  • Low boat pose (30 seconds).
  • Rocking quad stretch (30 seconds).
