Lionel Messi: Celebrating Goals with Marvel Characters

From being one of the most criticized players at PSG to being treated like a king in Miami, Messi generates great expectations in every game he plays with the colors of Inter Miami. After several years of celebrating in a single way, the global star now does it in different forms and in reference to Marvel.

In his time at Barcelona and Paris, Lionel Messi used to celebrate in a classic way by pointing to the sky after each of his goals. However, this has completely changed since he arrived in Miami. The Argentine has shown to be a Marvel fanatic and after several weeks, the reason behind these celebrations referencing Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Thor has finally been revealed.

At 36 years old, Messi is living one of his best moments in his family and professional life. Before his arrival at Inter Miami, David Beckham's team was not competing for any trophies and had a poor position in the local championship. With the Argentine's arrival, this changed and now they only savor victories.

The most striking thing about his time at Inter Miami is the way he has chosen to celebrate his recent goals. While not all of his celebrations of the eight goals he has scored for the team have been a clear reference to the Avengers, he did so with 3 goals and for a few seconds simulated being one of the Avengers.

In an interview with the press, the Argentine superstar explained the reason for his recent celebrations: "My kids are still on vacation and every night we watch Marvel superheroes. They are the ones who gave me the idea and told me that every time I score a goal, I should celebrate like a superhero."
