Despite the defeat against Magallanes, Matías Zaldivia, defender of Universidad de Chile, fully trusts the team's recovery under the guidance of Mauricio Pellegrino and asks not to count them out in the fight for the title of the Campeonato Nacional.
"There are 10 teams within 6 points, the championship is very close, it is impossible to discount us from the title race. We took a step forward in ball possession, but we have to keep improving in other aspects," emphasized the defender, who underwent medical tests due to the discomfort he experienced in the match against Academia.
Regarding his health, the Chilean national team player explained that "it is a mild sprain, now I have to talk to the doctor to find out how many days it will be. I don't know anything, because of the pain, I would say it's difficult for me to play against O'Higgins."
Regarding the setback they suffered against the albicelestes, the center-back stated that "we had great hopes of winning yesterday to get back on top, but we must not lower our heads (...) When we had to win three in a row, we shouldn't believe we were candidates, and now we shouldn't believe we are the worst. We have to become a tougher team again and then the results will come," Zaldivia concluded.
The "U" suffered their third consecutive defeat in the Campeonato Nacional, a result that left the blues in sixth place with 29 points, seven behind the leader Cobresal.
