Norway dominated the Philippines and secured their spot in the Round of 16 with a scandalous victory at Eden Park.

Sophie Román Haug was the star of Norway during the first half of the match. Just six minutes into the game, the forward from Roma opened the scoring with a volley in front of Olivia McDaniel's goal.

By the 17th minute, Sophia Haug scored her second goal, a shot that pushed Norway into the Round of 16 of the World Cup. A crossed ball from Boe Risa that went over the defense and found Haug, who didn't hesitate to finish it off at the far post.

The Philippines couldn't stop Norway's dominance, as they controlled the ball and looked comfortable on the field.

Caroline Hansen scored the third goal for the Scandinavians with a tremendous shot from outside the box that McDaniel couldn't stop. Thus, Norway went into halftime with a clear lead in the scoreline and a ticket to the Round of 16.

At the beginning of the second half, the Nordic team scored their fourth goal with an own goal from Alicia Baker, who tried to stop a cross from Maanum. A foul on Guro Reiten in the 51st minute led to the intervention of the VAR and a penalty in favor of Norway, which Reiten scored to make it 5-0.

Guro Reiten missed the chance to score the sixth goal just three minutes later, as her left-footed shot towards the far post went slightly wide.

Angela Beard had the clearest opportunity for the Philippines throughout the match with a left-footed shot after a corner kick that went wide on the left side of the goal.

Sophie Haug scored the sixth goal for Norway during injury time with a header from a cross by Reiten.

With this result, the Norwegian National Team secures second place in Group A with four points and a goal difference of +4.
