Winter Bonus 2023: When is the benefit paid and how to know if you are eligible?

Attention! The Government of Chile provides its citizens with various economic supports, among them is the Winter Bonus. This subsidy is for people who receive the money to have extra income to cover some expenses and also to cope with the increase in prices of basic food items.

When do they pay the Winter Bonus?

How much is the Winter Bonus?

This contribution is $60,000 pesos, the delivery is to help the elderly, especially those who receive a pension less than or equal to $201,677 pesos.

Who receives the Winter Bonus?

• Pensioners of the Institute of Social Security, the Labor Security Institute, the Pension Funds, and Employers' Mutuals established by Law No. 16,744, whose pensions are lower than or equal to the minimum old-age pension value of article 26 of Law No. 15,386, for pensioners aged 75 or older, on the payment date of the benefit.
• Pensioners of the system established in Decree Law No. 3,500 of 1980, who are receiving minimum pensions with state guarantee, in accordance with Title VII of said legal body.
• Pensioners of the system established in the aforementioned Decree Law who are receiving a solidarity pension contribution, whose pensions are lower than or equal to the minimum old-age pension value of article 26 of Law No. 15,386, for pensioners aged 75 or older, on the payment date of the benefit.
• Beneficiaries of the universal guaranteed pension, as long as they do not have the right to another pension in any pension system.
• Pensioners of any pension system who, in addition, are receiving a universal guaranteed pension and whose pensions are lower than or equal to the minimum old-age pension value of article 26 of Law No. 15,386, for pensioners aged 75 or older, on the payment date of the benefit (Information from the Government of Chile).

How is the payment of the Winter Bonus?

The method of delivering the financial support is according to the choice of the retiree: deposit through a RUT account or by going in person to the places determined by the Government (the elderly person has a one-year deadline to do so).
