The Saudi Arabian League has shown a great interest in signing renowned players and last season it was Al Nassr who signed Cristiano Ronaldo. Rumors also place a possible signing of Lionel Messi by Al Hilal with a good amount of money as an intermediary between the negotiations with Leo's environment. However, a historic player like Rivaldo harshly criticized these movements in football and labeled them as "deception".
"I understand that sometimes players let themselves be deceived by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia, but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected. So, he may be going through a phase of certain disappointment and even reflection if the money he is receiving compensates for the not so happy life he is living at the moment," said the Brazilian legend.
In his reflection, he referred to the number of titles that a player can achieve in a big club, but because of age issues, they decide to migrate to Asian football, putting economic issues ahead. However, he asked fans to be calm with their demands towards them.
"This happens to all players and Messi himself will soon be able to witness it. It would be good for him and for football to see Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Real Madrid to finish his career. Of course, the fans have to understand that they cannot demand the same from him as when he was 25 or 26 years old, but he can still help the club in more conquests," he added when asked about both players.
Messi's Attitude at PSG
For Rivaldo, Messi's attitude has not been the right one at PSG because it seems that he has disrespected the entity with which he has a current contract. In addition, he highlights that there could have been better methods to fulfill commercial agreements.
"It saddened me a little to see Messi take this kind of attitude, disrespectful to his current club, something that is unusual in his career, which has always been marked by discipline. He certainly could have done it differently," he commented.
"He had alternatives - talking to the club, waiting for the Saudi leaders to come to Paris or even waiting for the end of the season - to come to an understanding with PSG without causing that internal problem," he concluded about it.
