The Al-Nassr team from Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, announced the departure of the French coach Rudi García, who joined the institution in July 2022.
"Al-Nassr can announce that head coach Rudi Garcia is leaving the club", the club posted on its Twitter account, before announcing minutes later in another tweet that the Croatian Dinko Jelicic, the current coach of the U19 team, will take charge of the first team.
"The board of directors and the entire Al-Nassr want to thank Rudi and his team for their work in the last eight months," added the club.
According to several foreign media outlets, the former coach of Marseille and Roma, among others, has been fired due to poor results and his lack of understanding with the team.
Al-Nassr, second in the Saudi championship, three points behind the leader, lost in early March against Al-Ittihad and drew against Al-Feiha last weekend.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, tensions between the coach and the players, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo, would have precipitated his departure.
